BORGO
LA CERBAIOLA
An absolutely exclusive piece of Tuscany, with a characteristic medieval village, for the most part already renovated, after years of neglect, since, in the early sixties, the last families, following a path common to these people, left it to move to large urban centers, with their own load of dreams and hopes.
The arrival, while forcing the guest to tackle a couple of kilometers of dirt road right on the threshold of the destination, is simple, whether you come from the Apennine side and from Florence, or go up from the Tyrrhenian coast. The Cecina river, which flows at the foot of the large terrace that houses the village, has assigned the territorial competence of this small paradise to the province of Pisa, even if Siena is the closest historic city (about 50 km) and Florence itself is just about seventy kilometers, half of which of freeway.
At 500 meters above sea level, isolated from the towns, but with all the most important services within 15-20 minutes by car, Cerbaiola offers its guests a particularly suggestive approach. Dominant position, a frame softened by the green of nature and marked by gentle reliefs. This village is a natural balcony on authentic Tuscany; Volterra on the horizon recalls the history and culture of a world famous land.
